Origamic Architecture Card Arc De Triomphe

Arc De Triomphe

Ref: MC04

"Napoléon I, gaining victory in the French Revolution, entrusted Chalgrin to design the arch as a commemoration. Its splendid appearance brings a crown of coronation at Notre Dame to mind. It is situated in the Place de l'Etoile (Place Charles-de-Gaulle) where 12 avenues, such as Avenue de Champs-Élysées were brought together by a city remodeling project. I like Paris best of all."

Masahiro Chatani.

Origamic Architecture Card Amsterdam Houses

Amsterdam Houses

Ref: MC07

"Rows of houses like this date back to the 17th and 18th century, where a major city planning was undertaken. Amsterdam was rapidly developing as a commercial city in those days. Canals were the main traffic network. The houses were built so as to maximize land use between the canals. These neat and trim houses, reflected in the canals, attract us as if they came out of a children's picture book."

Masahiro Chatani.
